Rubber City Tire & Auto Repair

While driving from Sarasota to Tampa International Airport on a Saturday morning, a safety warning suddenly appeared on the car indicating a possible loose lug nut on the right front wheel. I had also felt some vibration, so I took the warning seriously and got off at the next exit. Fortunately, we found Rubber City Tire & Auto Repair on 34th Street South in St. Petersburg. Even though there were several customers in the waiting area, within three or four minutes I was asked how they could help. I explained that we were just passing through and asked if they could check the torque on the lug nuts and make sure we were safe to continue our trip. Eric, whose family has apparently operated the business for many years, took care of us. He checked and verified that all of the lug nuts were properly torqued and that the tire pressures were within range. That alone gave me considerable peace of mind. Eric spent probably 30 minutes with us, and when everything was finished, he told me there was no charge. I tipped him, of course, but I was genuinely impressed by the way we were treated. It’s great to find fast, caring service from a local business, especially when you’re traveling and

I've been coming here for probably over 15 years, and these guys are always professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate that they always keep me informed every step of the way to achieving the best solution for any work or maintenance I need done and that they always give me tips on how to truly take care of my car. Today in particular I came in to get my wheels balanced and an alignment. They were able to see me right away. Big shout out to Ernesto who was taking care of my car's service today. He always brings a positive energy everytime i come by the shop and i very much appreciate that he happily gives me insight into what's going on with my car and breaking down all the valuable knowlege that im always interested to gain. I love learning about cars and i learn something new everytime I speak with him or any of the staff. Thanks again Ernesto and the whole Rubber City team! You guys aret the best and I'm forever grateful for all you do. Whether you're new to the area, or a seasoned Floridian but are looking for good reliable auto service I highly recommend Rubber City!

My Rubber City (RC) experiences SINCE 2024 as a single woman … I own NOT 1 BUT 2 Jeep Wranglers (2003 & 2015) of which have been many lazy mechanics nightmares but has NOT/NEVER phased RC from day 1. I have NEVER come in with issues and left with new ones; NOT EVER which for a woman plus OLD off-roading jeeps is almost not humanly possible! I wholeheartedly make mechanics jobs even MORE challenging by INSISTING to not JUST off-road BUT I hard core SEND it, CLIMB it and GET it (all including mud) at any chance. These bad, but very fun, off-roading decisions sometimes require far driving distances; so I don’t just stop at tire services. I can attest that between 2 Jeeps I probably have the most recent long term, difficult and quantity of experiences with RC family/friendly customer service, pricing and overall experience. There have been times I SWORE I needed something but they didn’t let me waste my money; one time was a battery issue (let it sit too long) another was AN OIL change (I had forgotten my buddy did it for me after the hurricanes while my power was out). I have had “noises” that have needed to be chased. I had major issues with my 2003 after Helene 2024 flood and the
